Stuffed Pepper Recipes for Slow Cookers
For those that like their meals spicy and hot, stuffed peppers on the plates are a mainstay. There are literally hundreds of slow cooker recipes available for your perusal, and these are just some of them.
Stuffed Peppers Mixed with Ground Beef
Start by preparing the necessary ingredients: 6 pieces of bell pepper (either red or green will be okay), ground beef (lean, about ¾ of a pound), a teaspoon of salt, chopped onion (1/3 cup), 12 ounce can of corn with peppers (drain the juices first), and a couple of teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce.
This stuffed pepper dish must also have a teaspoon of mustard, a 10 ounce can of tomato soup, and a can of tomatoes (14 ounces, diced and with some of the liquid removed).
Take the bell peppers and remove the seeds and core. Take a mixing bowl and put in the salt, corn, ground beef and onion. Mix this well, and then using a spoon, insert some of it into the peppers.
Now take the stuffed peppers and set in the slow cooker. Add as many as you like. When you are satisfied with the number of layers, sprinkle the Worcestershire sauce, along with the mustard and the tomatoes. The final step is to add the tomato paste.
Put the slow cooker at a low level, and after 10 hours, this stuffed pepper meal, good enough for 6, can be served up.
Stuffed Peppers with Cheese
Ready the following: green bell peppers (6 pieces), a tablespoon of butter, a tablespoon of olive oil, half a cup of celery, half a cup of onion (chopped), a 14.5 ounce can of tomatoes, an 8 ounce can of tomato juice and a teaspoon of dried oregano.
For this slow cooker stuffed pepper recipe a crushed clove garlic is also needed, as well as half a teaspoon of dried basil leaves, salt (2 teaspoons), ground black pepper (half a teaspoon), a beaten egg, 1 and ½ teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce and ground beef (1 and ½ lbs). Optionally, you can include 2 cups of rice or ¾ cup of cheese.
After getting rid of the membrane and the seeds, wash the bell peppers in running water. Next place them in a pot, mix in some water (with salt) and let it boil and simmer for 8 minutes.
When they’re dry put them in a skillet and sauté with some onion and celery. Now add the tomato sauce, garlic, tomato juice, oregano, salt, basil, and some of the pepper. Place them inside the slow cooker.
Take the egg and put inside a bowl along with the salt, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Mix it with the beef, the tomato paste and rice or cheese. Now put this concoction into the slow cooker and make your stuffed peppers. Set it to high and give it about 5 hours to tenderize the meat, then it’s finished.
