Roast Beef Delicacies on Your Crock Pot
Great tasting food doesn’t necessarily mean you have to labor in the kitchen. In the case of roast beef, you can turn things a lot easier by making use of your slow cooker.
Roast Beef with Mushrooms
Getting this slow cooker dish ready isn’t that hard. First you need about 2 lbs of shoulder beef roast, a can of mushroom cream soup, French onion soup (1 can will do), and some pepper.
Start by cooking the beef in a frying pan, letting it turn into a nice golden brown. After it has been cooked, take the roast and place it in the slow cooker. The next step is to pour in the mushroom soup and the French onion soup. Depending on your preferences, you can either turn it up high and it will be cooked in 5 hours, or you can set it to low, which will take about twice the time to cook.
At any rate, once it is finished, remove the roast beef from the slow cooker and set it on a place or saucepan. Pour the juices on a separate bowl and let it serve as gravy.
Spicy Roast Beef
Get a pound of beef roast, a teaspoon of basil, half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, oregano (a teaspoon), 3 cups of water and a package of onion mix.
Allow the roast beef to cook until it gets brown. Now set the oregano, onion mix, pepper and the other ingredients in the slow cooker. Put the beef in last. Put the crock pot on low. After 3 hours, you can open it and layer in some diced potatoes or carrots, but that is only optional. Whether you add them or not, allow for a total of 8 hours to pass before it is ready.
Beef Roast with Gingersnaps
This recipe requires 4 lbs of roast (rump), a couple of sliced onions, a 10 oz can of beef broth, salt, liquid brown sugar (2/3 cup), pepper, cider vinegar (1/3 cup), and 6 pieces of crushed gingersnaps.
After the beef roast is cooked, spray it with the pepper and salt. If necessary turn it over so that the flavoring will be distributed evenly. Now set it inside the slow cooker and dust it with some onion, pepper, salt and cider vinegar. Pour in the brown sugar and finally put in the beef broth.
When it is cooked, put in the gingersnaps. When it’s thick, you can remove the beef roast and the juices.
Roast beef recipes are very easy to create in a slow cooker. With a little diligence, you’ll be able to vary your cooking, and you wouldn’t have to put up with pedestrian, run of the mill dishes anymore.
