Pork Ribs on Slow Cookers

By making slow cooker recipes for ribs you are assured of succulent meals that will delight every member of the family. For those still looking for the right stuff to serve, here are a few ideas.

Pork with Cranberry Sauce

Serve up this ribs slow cooker recipe with the following ingredients: a couple of cups of cranberries (8 to 10 ounces), brown sugar (1/2 cup), a cup of water, maple syrup (half a cup) and one large apple (chopped, the skin may or may not be removed), a cup of mustard and 1/3 cup of cinnamon.

This dish also needs a cup of nutmeg, 6 lbs of country style pork ribs, a package of onions (about 16 ounces), and a tablespoon each of cold water and flour (or cornstarch).

Get a saucepan, and mix the maple syrup, brown sugar, cranberries, sliced apples and a cup of water. Boil this for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature to medium. Proceed to add the mustard, nutmeg and some of the cinnamon.

Set the onions in the slow cooker, and layer the pork ribs on top. Using a spoon, evenly distribute the cranberry sauce you just made, and cover it. If you look at the crock pot and see that the sauce is a little thin, you add a mixture of cornstarch (or flour) with water to thicken it. Just pour it in, stir and cook.

Cook on low for 7 hours. This ribs slow cooker recipe can generate 6 to 8 helpings.

Country Style Pork Ribs and Barbecue

Arrange the following: 2 apples (large size, skin removed, sliced thin and cored), 5 pounds of country style pork ribs (boneless), 1 onion (large, cut in half), cinnamon (half a teaspoon), allspice (half a cup), salt, pepper and 1 and ½ cups of barbecue sauce.

To make this pork ribs slow cooker recipe, add the onion, pork, apples, allspice and cinnamon and after mixing in a bowl, put in the crock pot. After a 7 hour cooking time, discard the juices and sprinkle the barbecue sauce. Cook again (this time on high), for half an hour.

When it’s cooked, the ribs slow cooker recipe can serve up to 6 plates.

Pork Chips with Honey

You should have back ribs (2 to 3 racks), 2 cups of ketchup, half a cup of honey, a teaspoon of pepper and salt, sliced onion (1/3 cup), 1 and ½ cups of Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce (a tablespoon), garlic powder (half a teaspoon), 2 tablespoons of mustard, cider vinegar (2 teaspoons), and ground black pepper (1/4 tablespoon).

Cook the back ribs on a skillet, frying and sautéing as much as necessary (let it turn brown). After it is set, let it simmer down for a while. Get the garlic powder, ground black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, ketchup and the rest of the ingredients; put them in a blender or food processor and let the mixture smoothen.

Move the ribs to the slow cooker, sprinkle it with the sauce and cook for 7 to 9 hours.
