You don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant to experience something more flavorful. For a taste of something different, try some crock pot pheasant recipes.

A Traditional Pheasant Recipe

For this dish, you need to have a couple of pheasants, salt (1/3 teaspoon), a jar of barbecue sauce, half a cup of water, and 1/2 cup of soy sauce; a couple of tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, garlic (minced, 3 tablespoons), smoke flavoring (2 tablespoons), dark brown sugar (half a cup), seasoning sauce (half a tablespoon), onion powder (half a teaspoon) and a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar.

Start this crock pot pheasant recipe by washing and drying the meat; place it in a large bowl, and spray generously with salt and water. Let the flavor soak in for about 60 minutes. When the time has elapsed, remove the water.

Get another bowl and mix in the brown sugar, garlic, balsamic vinegar, smoke flavoring, onion powder and all the other ingredients (this will be the marinade). Once it has been combined thoroughly, put in the pheasant and place everything in a refrigerator for a couple of hours.

After the two hours, drain the marinade and set in the slow cooker, pouring in half a cup of broth or water. Cook at a low level for 7 to 9 hours.

After 8 1/2 hours, you may add more flavoring to this crock pot pheasant recipe by pouring in some barbecue sauce. If you do add this, cook it (high) for another 30 minutes.

Pheasant Mixed with Rice

The ingredients include some flour, salt, a couple of sliced pheasants, pepper, 2 cups of rice (raw), celery cream soup (one 10 ounce can), a can (4 ounces) of mushrooms (do not remove the liquid), an envelop of onion soup mix, and a couple of cups of water.

Begin making this crock pot pheasant recipe by salting the sliced chunks, and sprinkling some pepper and flour. When set, place it in a frying pan and cook until it browns (add some butter or cooking oil).

Open the crock pot and throw in the mushrooms, water, rice and soup. Stir it thoroughly until they mix together. Add the onion mix last, and put on the lid.

This crock pot pheasant recipe should be cooked on a high setting for 4 hours. Check a couple of times to see if adding water is necessary before serving.

Crock pot pheasant recipes are gaining more popularity, which is really no surprise; once you sink your teeth into these delicacies, you’ll be yearning for more.
