Kielbasa Recipes Made for Slow Cookers
Kielbasa, or Polish sausage, has been a mainstay in European tables for many years. If you want to incorporate this in your meals, try the following recipes.
Kielbasa with Potatoes
You should get 3 lbs of potatoes (10 pieces, medium size), a couple of medium sized onions (chopped), 14 ounces of Kielbasa sausages, potato soup (2 cans, 10 ounces for each one), evaporated milk (half a cup will be all right), pepper (1/3 cup), paprika and some shredded cheese.
Start this dish by placing the Kielbasa, onions and potatoes in the slow cooker. Leave this for awhile and get a medium sized bowl and mix in the potato soup, milk, cheese and add some of the pepper. Pour this into the crock pot and spray some paprika. Add the sausages.
Set the slow cooker to low, and in 7 hours, your Kielbasa meal will be ready.
Tangy and Spicy Kielbasa
This recipe requires a can of apples (20 ounces), Kielbasa sausages (3 lbs), sliced onions (2 pieces), brown sugar (1/3 cup), half a teaspoon of salt, and a little bit of pepper.
This dish is very, very easy to make: just pour in all the aforementioned ingredients in the slow cooker, stir for a couple of minutes and close the lid. Set to high. In 5 hours, you can remove the sausages and serve them on a plate.
This dish can be eaten on its own, but some prefer to have it with some fried rice, while others prefer noodles. Those with a sweet tooth like to munch on some brownies. This just goes to show you how versatile it is.
Kielbasa with Mustard
For this one you will need sweet onion (1 piece, sliced), a couple of pounds of Kielbasa, 3 tablespoons of mustard, vinegar (3 tablespoons), brown sugar (2 tablespoons), and a couple of tablespoons of honey.
Cut the sausages into bite sized chunks. Open the slow cooker and place some onions in the slow cooker, layering the sausages on top of it. Get the honey, vinegar, sugar and the other ingredients all together in a bowl and spray all over the sausages.
Turn the slow cooker on to low (7 hours) or high (3 and half hours). This can be an appetizer, a side dish or the main dish; it’s all up to you.
If you’ve never heard of Kielbasa, now’s the time to try it. These three recipes will give you a taste of just exactly what you can do with this Polish delight.
