Idiot-Proof Pot Roast Recipe in Slow Cooker

A beef chuck roast cut is a perfect candidate for slow cooking because it is tough piece of meat. And for this pot roast recipe in slow cooker, you’re going to need around two kilos or four pounds of meat.
Now, it isn’t a pot roast without some veggies thrown in and the idiot-proof parts of this recipe is… frozen vegetables! That means no peeling, no rinsing and all that other stuff.
This pot roast recipe in slow cooker calls for a small bag of frozen baby carrots, frozen onions and a can of button mushrooms (if you want more veggies in there). Also, you’re going to need half a pound of new potatoes too. Just dump them all on the bottom of the cooker.
The ingredients for the sauce in this pot roast recipe in slow cooker include a 10 ¾ oz. cream of mushroom can, a couple of tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and ¾ of a cup of beef broth (low-sodium, preferably). Combine and mix these sauce ingredients well and set it aside.
Rinse the meat in running water, pat it dry with tissue and season it with salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil (around two tablespoons or more) in a wide skillet and when that’s good and hot, brown the meat on all four sides. All you need is a roast cut of beef chuck, a couple bags of frozen vegetables, new potatoes and a cream of mushroom sauce mixture to round things up. And whether you need it done in as little as three hours or as long as eight, just set up your slow cooker to high or low and just walk away and come back with a one-pot meal that’s ready to eat.
