Delectable Ham Recipes for Your Crock Pot

Anyone can prepare a dish with ham, but you can use your slow cooker to come with something that is a little bit more special. Make recipes that people will remember and keep asking for.

Corn and Ham in a Slow Cooker

This crock pot recipe calls for whole frozen kernel corn (3 cups), lean ham (1 and half cups), half a cup of chopped onion, green onion (1/5 cup), half a cup of green bell pepper (chopped), 1 red bell pepper (chopped), a 10 ounce can of mushroom soup, ground black pepper (1/8 teaspoon), and 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese (minced).

Start by spraying some cooking spray on the slow cooker. Then you add the onion, green onion, ham and the frozen kernels. Also put in the mushrooms, green and red peppers. Add the shredded cheese and stir it gently.

To cook you have two options: you can set the slow cooker to low and it will be ready in 8 hours, or adjust it to high and the dish will be ready in half the time.

Ham with Parmesan Cheese and Potatoes

This delicious recipe is about as straightforward as can be. You just need the following: potatoes (5 pieces, medium size and sliced), an onion (chopped fine), ham steak (a pound will do), pepper, parsley flakes (half a teaspoon), half a teaspoon of celery seed), and some Parmesan Cheese (3/4 cup, crushed), 1 and ¼ ounce of gravy mix, half a cup of water and about ¼ cup of milk (evaporated).

Begin by putting the ham in the slow cooker, and sprinkling some of the onions and diced potatoes on top. Add the other ingredients and finally top it off with the Parmesan cheese and the gravy. Pour in some water and close the lid.

At a low level the slow cooker will cook the ham in about 9 hours. Alternatively you can set to high and it will be finished in 5 hours’ time. When you open the slow cooker, add in the milk and stir. The ingredients provided for here are good for four helpings.

Slow cooker ham recipes are among the easiest you can make, as their flexibility allows you plenty of room for experimentation. These slow cooker recipes aren’t written in stone, so by all means, modify them as it suits your taste. While you begin by trying out classic dishes, it won’t be long before you come up with your own recipes that you can truly call your own.
