Crock Pot Recipes for Venison Dishes
Venison refers to the culinary term for meat of any kind of animal that is killed by means of hunting. Originally, the term applied to animals that formed part of the families of wild pigs, hares, and deer, as well as some species that formed part of the families of antelopes and goats. However, the usage of the term has started to be limited to the flesh of species that are included in the family of deer.
Venison can be cooked in the form of ground meat, sausages, roasts, and steaks. It is compared to beef most of the time because their flavors are similar but the fibers of venison are tender and shorter and it is much leaner than beef. Add the venison into the mixture, making sure that the marinade covers the meat completely. The meat should then be marinated and kept in the refrigerator for approximately twelve hours. After marinating, put the meat and onions into the crock pot and pour a cup of barbecue sauce over it. Set the crock pot for about ten to twelve hours on low.
