Crock Pot Recipes for Turkey Dishes

Turkey dishes are popular in different parts of the world but most of all it is very popular in the United States. That is the reason why there are a number of turkey recipes that have been concocted in the United Sates which Americans will be very glad to share with people of other nationalities. In this regard, we would want to teach you how to cook turkey dishes that were originally prepared in the United States. And we would like to emphasize the fact that these turkey recipes are best prepared with the use of such kitchen appliance commonly known as crock pots or slow cookers.

The first sumptuous dish that we would want to talk about is the Slow Cooker Turkey and Broccoli Casserole. In preparing this turkey recipe, you will first have to spray a cooking spray inside the crock pot or grease the inside of the crock pot lightly using butter. Saute eight ounces of sliced mushrooms in butter in a skillet until mushrooms become tender. Do not forget to sauté such mushrooms over low heat only. Such ingredients as mushrooms, 10 3/4-ounce of condensed golden mushroom soup, five tablespoons of mayonnaise, three tablespoons of milk, a tablespoon of prepared mustard, and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper should be combined inside the crock pot. Four cups of diced and cooked turkey and 16 ounces of frozen cut broccoli should then be stirred in with the rest of the ingredients inside the crock pot. Cover the crock pot and let it cook for approximately five hours on low setting. After five hours, add a cup of shredded American cheese and let it cook for thirty more minutes. ¼ cup of toasted almonds is optional but it can be sprinked on top of the dish once it is cooked.

Another sumptuous turkey recipe that we would want to talk about is the Turkey Stew With Mushrooms and Sour Cream. The method for preparing this turkey recipe starts by layering a pound of turkey cutlets or chops that are cut into 1-inch strips, a medium onion that is halved and sliced thinly, and eight ounces of sliced fresh mushrooms inside the crock pot. It should be cooked for approximately four hours on low setting. The contents of the crock pot should be transferred into a warm serving bowl and the crock pot should then be set on high temperature. Proceed by making a mixture of three tablespoons of all-purpose flour and a cup of milk or half & half before pouring such mixture in the crock pot, allowing it to mix with the juices created by the turkey strips, mushrooms, and onions. A teaspoon of crumpled dried leaf tarragon, a teaspoon of dried parsley, a teaspoon of salt, and 1/8 teaspoon of pepper should also be placed in the crock pot. Place the turkey and the vegetables back in the crock pot, add ½ cup of frozen carrots and peas, and cook for an hour on high setting. You will know whether the dish is cooked or not because the sauce thickens and the vegetables become tender. To make this turkey recipe more sumptuous, you may stir half a cup of sour cream before serving. This dish matches either a bread toast or rice.
