Vegetable Beef Stew

The ingredients for this dish are a pound or pound and a half of stewing beef (slice them into inch size cubes), a cup of chopped onions, a slice of diced bacon, potatoes (1 and ½ pounds, medium size), a cup of apple cider, ribs celery (2 pieces sliced), carrots (2 medium sized pieces, skinned and sliced thin), bay leaf (1 piece), diced rutabaga (1 and ½ cups), and half a teaspoon of dried rosemary (crushed).

This slow cooker beef stew recipe will also require black pepper (1/8 teaspoon), a couple of teaspoons of flour, beef broth, cold water (2 teaspoons), a tablespoon of chopped parsley or a teaspoon of parsley flakes.

Start by cooking the beef stew and bacon, adding some of the onions. Keep cooking in the frying pan until the meat turns golden brown. Step two is to insert both the beef stew and the bacon in the crock pot, along with the following ingredients: the beef broth, celery, potatoes, apple cider, rutabaga, bay leaf, carrots, and the crumbled rosemary. Sprinkle some of the salt and pepper to add flavoring.

To cook this beef stew recipe turn the crock pot to low, and give it up to 9 hours to cook. After 9 hours, open the slow cooker and add some flour and cold water; set it to high and let it cook for another 15 minutes.

This is good for 4 to 6 servings.

Sweet & Sour Beef Stew

This is an old favorite, and to make it, you should have 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, a 15 ounce can of tomato juice, 3 pounds of round steak (chopped into edible chunks), light brown sugar (1/4 cup), half a teaspoon of paprika, half a teaspoon of salt, cider vinegar (half a cup), about half a cup of light corn syrup, and 3 carrots (medium sized, sliced as thinly as possible).

To create this beef stew recipe on your slow cooker, you will also need ribs celery (3 pieces, sliced), a large onion (sliced), a bell pepper (large), and a can of pineapple chunks (8 ounces, liquid removed).

Begin by heating the vegetable oil in the skillet and cooking the round beef. When it is done, place it inside your slow cooker. Add in the following order: the tomato juice, salt, celery, paprika, brown sugar, green pepper, pineapple chunks and the onions.

Close the crock pot. You can cook this beef stew recipe in two ways: at a low setting (9 hours) or high (5 hours). Afterwards, you will notice that the beef stew is tender, which means it’s ready. Add some more of the seasonings if necessary. This recipe can make 6 servings.
