You don’t need a degree in culinary arts to make the perfect stuffed cabbage recipe. All that’s required is a slow cooker and a desire for great tasting food.

Stuffed Cabbage with Pork

To make this slow cooker recipe, you should get cabbage leaves (12 large pieces), salt pork (alternatively you can use a couple of slices of bacon), ground pork (1 lb), ground beef (1 lb, lean), milk (1/4 cups), 1 egg, onion (1/4 cup, chopped), a cup of cooked rice and a teaspoon of salt.

The following are also necessary: 8 oz. can of tomato juice, lemon juice (1 tablespoon), brown sugar (1 tablespoon), and a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.

To start making this slow cooker dish, boil the cabbage leaves for 3 minutes, and dry it. Next you should fry the salt pork. After that is cooked, get the beef, milk, rice, onion, egg, and the other flavorings and mix well. Pour about ¼ cup of this mixture into the cabbage leaves.

After the leaves are rolled up, place them inside a slow cooker. Now get the brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, tomato juice and sprinkle on the stuffed cabbage leaves.

Set the slow cooker to high and this stuffed cabbage dish will be ready in 4 hours.

Sweet Potato & Stuffed Cabbage

You should get a head cabbage, 1 onion (large), sweet potatoes (3 lbs), a teaspoon of dried dill, half a cup of brown rice, black pepper (1/4 teaspoon), a 28 ounce can of tomatoes, a couple of egg whites, 1 apple (cored, skinned and sliced), and ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger.

The initial step is to parboil the cabbage and split the leaves. Get your food processor, and put in the sweet potatoes, onion, and some of the leaves. Include half a cup of the brown rice, the dried dill and the eggs (beaten first).

Next take two of the largest stuffed cabbage leaves and pour in 2 tablespoons of the mixed concoction you just made. Fold and use a toothpick to hold it together. Take the other leaves and put inside the slow cooker.

Put some of the onions on the stuffed cabbage. Throw in the tomatoes, apple, and the ground ginger. Now you can put the cabbages into the slow cooker. At a high setting the recipe will be set in 4 to 6 hours.

Compared with others, slow cooker stuffed cabbage recipes are hassle free, delicious and nutritious to boot. With a little more time in the kitchen, you’ll be coming up with your own variations very quickly.
