Crock Pot is known to be a brand name of a series of slow cookers developed by Rival Industries. However, after the products were launched by the firm, consumers use that term “brand name” when referring to any slow cooker device. Due to the increasing popularity of slow cookers in the market, kitchen device distributors have developed their own versions of Crock Pots.

Slow cookers are commonly used in recipes that require a long cooking time and also in dishes that contain water. The Crock Pot method is believed to be one of the safest cooking techniques because slow cookers can be left unattended. One of the advantages of using this method is that it prevents vegetables from being overcooked. Moreover, cooking with the use of these appliances is said to be convenient for busy mothers because they just have to prepare the ingredients and put them in slow cookers and wait for several hours until the dish is cooked.

One of the famous recipes that use the method is the Crock Pot pork chops. Cooking experts suggest that mothers prepare this dish because Crock Pot pork chops contain ingredients that are proven to be healthy to children. However, people who plan to cook the recipe should expect a longer cooking time as compared with other dishes.

The ingredients of Crock Pot pork chops are pork chops (of course), sliced and peeled potatoes, sliced carrots, rosemary, garlic powder, salt, pepper, minced garlic, undiluted mushroom sauce, mushrooms and milk. It is important to ensure that the ingredients are washed and prepared well before cooking the dish.

The first step in cooking Crock Pot pork chops is to put the pork chops in a slow cooker maintained at low temperature for an hour. Sprinkle the meat with garlic powder rosemary, salt and pepper to taste. Remove the meat and place the potatoes and carrots in the cooker. Afterwards, put the pork chops on top of the potatoes and carrots. Mix the mushroom sauce, mushrooms and milk in a separate bowl. Pour the mixture in the Crock Pot and cook the dish from four to six hours.

Crock Pot pork chops is seldom served in ordinary family meals because of the long cooking time that it requires. Hence, for people who are interested in cooking the recipe, it is recommended that the dish be prepared for dinner time.
