Adding Flair to Slow Cooker Beef Recipes
You can find recipes for beef in plenty of cookbooks but most of them are very complicated, with difficult to find ingredients. These dishes on the other hand, are easy to follow and make, yet doesn’t sacrifice any of the flavors.
Beef and Vegetable Roast
When it comes to recipes for beef, most try to balance between serving something nutritious and delicious. That isn’t a problem with this dish.
The ingredients are a couple of teaspoons of olive oil, 2 red potatoes, chopped turnip, a couple of sliced carrots, bell peppers (1 red, yellow and green), squash (sliced), zucchini, (4 pieces), garlic cloves (4 pieces), ground pepper, half a teaspoon of salt, 1 thyme, and some rosemary.
This recipe for beef also requires 3 lbs of broil steak, 2 green onions, flour (2 tablespoons), 2 cups of beef broth, a bay leaf, and some scallions.
Get two bowls. In one bowl, put in the turnip, carrots and red potatoes. Place the peppers, thyme, zucchini, and everything else in the other bowl. Apply some of the olive oil and seasonings in each bowl. Bake both vegetables at 375 degrees Celsius, and when it’s done add some of the onions.
Get a skillet and cook the meat. Spray some scallions and also the flour, and let it turn brown. The next step is to place the meat in the slow cooker. Put in the bay leaf, and pour in some of the broth.
Cook for 8 hours (at low), and then add the vegetables you had prepared earlier.
Set the slow cooker to high for another 20 minutes and you are done. If you like, you can set aside the juices and place them in a bowl, and add some cornstarch and water to make some gravy. Or you can just pour in the juices on the beef itself. This recipe for beef goes best with some crackers.
Corned Beef
This requires 4 cups of apple juice, 5 lbs of beef brisket, a tablespoon of mustard, 2 cups of brown sugar, 8 potatoes, 2 large carrots (sliced), peeled onion, and 1 cabbage.
This recipe for beef is cooked in the following way: combine all the vegetables in the slow cooker and stir it thoroughly. Press the button to high. After 5 hours, open the crock pot and place everything on the serving plate.
