The Perfect Pheasant Recipe for Your Crockpot

This recipe will make use of two 1 ½ lb. pheasants or one 3 lb. pheasant. It is preferable that the meat of the poultry is cut from the bones and into bite-sized pieces. Apart from the pheasants, one will need the following ingredients as well: a quarter cup of flour (seasoned with salt and pepper), four tablespoons of oil, another four tablespoons of butter, a clove of garlic, a cup of chopped onions, a cup of dry white wine, a tablespoon of sugar, a small can each of chopped mushrooms and sliced black olives, and finally, a cup and a half of chicken broth.
The first thing to do in this recipe of crockpot pheasant is to dredge the bite-sized pieces of meat in the seasoned flour. After doing so, be sure to shake any excess seasoned flour off the meat. The meat is then sautéed in shortening and butter. The sautéed meat is then removed into a crockpot. After putting the meat in the crockpot, mix the other ingredients to make the marinade for the dish. The garlic clove is mashed in skillet juices and the chopped onion, the dry white wine, the sugar, the mushrooms and the olives, and the chicken broth are then added. After adding them, the mixture is then heated until bubbling which can take about five minutes.
It is then poured over the pheasant. The heating of the marinated pheasant then continues for six to eight hours using the crockpot. The cooking process is extensive as the crockpot slowly cooks the meat and the marinade. Though lengthy, the slow cooking will ensure that the pheasant is thoroughly cooked and that the flavor of the marinade will mingle perfectly with the meat. The recipe is best served with some rice on the side. The recipe is also meant to be served for five to six persons.
